Kristina Polzin (née Sherman) , B.A., M.S.O.M., L.Ac., Dipl. O.M., is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Minnesota. Originally from Grand Rapids, MN, she recently returned to northern Minnesota to practice after a year-and-a-half working at a group acupuncture clinic in Scottsdale, AZ. Her journey with Oriental Medicine began in 2006, when she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Asian history from the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota. Upon graduation, Kristina’s interest took her to Chongqing, China where she taught English as a second language to university students. Kristina spent two years immersing herself in Chinese culture, where she discovered the ancient healing methods of Asia. She was so inspired that she returned to the United States to begin her formal education in Minnesota at Northwestern Health Science University. She has since returned to China for a three-week intensive learning opportunity in Tainjin, an experience that motivated her to intern in a variety of unique settings including hospitals, stroke and spinal cord rehabilitation clinics, and integrated wellness clinics. She received her Master's Degree in Science of Oriental Medicine from the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota, where she graduated summa cum laude. Kristina is a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), which allows her to be nationally certified in Chinese herbal medicine.
Kristina maintains a general practice treating all kinds of symptoms and health concerns. She enjoys treating women’s health, digestive issues, and emotional imbalances.
What attracted you to Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine?
“Eastern medicine fascinates me! Acupuncture is a great medium through which I can explore my interest in health and well being. The more I learn about Chinese medicine, the more meaning I find. It has been rewarding to look inward and restore personal balance in my own life. My experiences with Chinese medicine have allowed me to thrive in life and they motivate me to share this unique medicine with the world.
The beauty of Chinese medicine is in its simplicity. Its basic principles revolve around restoring balance and harmony.
